$1500 and a W126 What would you do?

If you had $1500 to spend on aftermarket parts and/or upgrades what would you do to your W126?

$1500 would be good for either serious stereo upgrades, or 17 inch AMG-style monoblock rims and tires. That's assuming all needed maintenance has been taken care of.

The 500 had a Viper alarm that was expensive to put because of the locking system (and the fact nobody in Kearney Nebraska had ever seen locks like the 500 had) It's nice to have just make sure they do it on a independent fuse because the 500 had the alaram tied in with aux. fan which would cause trouble everyonce in a while for some reason

Installing keyless entry with parking light flash on a W126 and W124 is VERY easy and cheap. We're talking less than $50 and at most, a couple hours of labor. Oh, this also disarms the factory alarm upon locking and vice versa, you just have to splice into the driver's door lock wire. That way, the alarm unit will think that you're (un)locking the driver's door with the key each time you hit the button.

Check it out.

MB and $1500 spending spree

Spend the money on gas, motels (priceline.com is great). An occasional breakfast won't hurt. Make it a great circle route. I suggest including Nashville and Monterey, and everywhere in between.

Take pictures, shake hands, smile a lot, and report back here in 3 months.
