What is the most common Benz?

I was wondering what you think the most common benz is.

In the US, I believe it's the 190e and the 300E w124, tell me if I'm wrong, it's the Benz I see the most everyday.

I would also like to know the most common benz in other countries, please name the country and car.

Thanks

I agree with Bill. I think it's the ML.

I see equal amounts of these..

C-Class (202s and 203s..) ... ML
I just see soo many of them.. especially on-campus.

and equal amounts of
W124, W210 and CLKs

Here are some interesting stuff..

in Singapore (I lived there for 3 years)

There was probably one C-Class (202 back then) for 20 or so E's (W124 or W210) and probably one C-class for 10-15 S-Class (126/140/220)

I don't know if it's any different now that the 203 came out.. There is a lot of MB E-Class cabs. I guess the buyers dont wanna buy something 'worse' than the cabs.

in Jakarta, Indonesia (I am iindonesian)

most common mb is definitely definitely the W124. Then the W202 would follow, etc.

Then again it's probably different now that it's been 5 years since I was there.

But they don't make a diesel M class, do they.....? :(

In Malaysia and Singapore, there are lots of E-classes running and parked here and there ...

I am assuming he means the W124 series...that would comprise of the 300D/300E/230E/320E/420E/500E body styles.

I see equivalent numbers of MLs and W124s on the road. Depending upon which one I'm driving, I guess I'm tipping the scales in that favor... ;)

In Southern California, I'd say it's a toss-up between the ML class and the W210 E-class.

Among the older models, I'd say I probably see more W123 diesels than anything else. They're everywhere. A close second would be W124's then W126's.

Most commonly seen MB in my country

Well, friends. In Vancouver, the most common MB is the 300E. It is a very popular used car, as you will see a lot of 1986s up to the last year before they went weird with the two bug-lights--trying to emulate Jaguar!! My Vancouver, British Columbia garage services a lot of them. They are pretty reliable, including mine(1986 300E gas model, 70K miles only.). The garage owner has a 1990 and the chief mechanic an 86 300E. Great garage. Many of our American neighbours get their MBs serviced there.

Al on the big island of Vancouver Island.

The E-class shares the largest market segment of the MB cars sold in this part of the world. This category of Benz is most popular with executives and businessmen (while the businesswomen prefer the BMW 3/5 series). Its not too large and bulky, nor too compact.

Today, we see a growing number of the W210s (a huge percentage of E230, E200 and now a growing number of E240). There remains a sizeabe number of W124s moving around town, but its numbers are dwindling. The new W211 is relatively rare with an occasional sighting once in a while.

There are also a few good ole W123s, mainly 200 and 230Es moving around with not many in excellent condition all round.

I see so many w126s everyday. 2 at school and usally 6 or 7 on the way around. But the ML, E, and C all the time

When I lived in Nigeria ten years ago, the W123 was the champ. They loved those cars, I don't know what they like now.

Nobody has mentioned the 'A' Class... it's not doing so badly over here in Europe.

Jim B+ 12-07-2002 05:34 PM

Think W123's are seen most often...

Largely because of the "Volkswagen Effect"...they were made without much change for a fairly long period of time, so W123's tend to "persist in the environment." Durability and the fact that these cars don't give much reason to get rid of them don't hurt, either.

Too many Benzes built since blend in with everything else on the road, IMHO.
