Any Beatle fan's here?

I remember, Oh so well, in 1968 at this exact time of year, the "White Album" was released, to me it was Magic.

All who read this, young or old, may not care for The Beatles, that's OK.

One just had to be there, and it's hard to explain, and so good to see all who, enjoy the music that changed our world!

Were you there for the ride in 1964, or taking it now?

I love the Beatles and I'm only 17, so no, I wasn't there in 1964. Who doesn't love the Beatles? I have many friends around my age who love them too!

I used to hate the beatles. I don't know why, they seemed so mainstream to me [late 1990's]. I now have slowly come around and appreciated what they were, a great band.

Sorry. I lost my taste for them about 25 years ago. Except for "I am the walrus", I will change the radio station if a Beatles song comes on. Can't really put my finger on why, I think I just got burnt out by all the hype. (They were good, but not THAT good). Only album I ever bought was Magical Mystery Tour. And it's probably only been played a dozen times since I bought it when I was in high school in the early 70's.

Beatles they get under your skin slowly.

When I would first hear the Beatles they sounded too tinny for my taste. But then perhaps the technology present at that time also played a role in their sound or may be not.

But slowly they started growing on me, and now well ahem they are a classic, I am almost ready to buy the anthology type book of music that is out there: 75 bucks or so, and I cant read music! But the book also has the words. Maybe Santa Claus will get the book for me!

On the wheeled side of the eqn, really like the TDIs, would love to pick up a bargain.

Tim, I have an original British inport copy of the White album. It has the poster in it which has all the lyrics and several pictures on it. Also there are 4 color portraits of each members. I bought the albem at a used record store sbout 15-16 years ago. I have it in a plastic sleeve to protect it some what. I was 1 yr old when that album came out. My mother saw them in '64 at the Boston Garden. I have all her original Beatle albums. I have their first album, I believe, it simply says "Introducing the Beatles, England's #1 Vocal group". I tend to like their later stuff. My mother doesn't like the "drug years".

i have a cd from asia that has all the beatles albums in it. it has a windows program that lets you select the album and songs and it displays the lyrics for what's playing. i kid ye not! unfortunately the source files are .wav's for entire albums and the program uses relative addresses within the files for the song selections so it's virtually hack-proof.

Joe:
Where did you get the CD? My 8yr old daughter is a big Beatles fan and she would love it.
We went on a Beatles walking tour in London this past summer. For her, it was fantastic. We ended up at the Abbey Road Studio and we got a picture of us crossing the Abbey Road crosswalk.

Talking Hey, Jude

I remember playing the 45rpm recording of "Hey Jude" non-stop (by moving the top arm of the changer off to the side) for several hours - wouldn't have stopped, but I got complaints from the apartment downstairs.

And there was a small get together after a Mini Owners's Association meeting where we made a reel to reel tape copy of "Revolution 9" so we could listen for embedded messages when it was played backwards ("Turn me on, dead man").

Last year, I bought a ten VHS tape set of The Beatles. I guess I'm a fan.

Hey JSMITH

Hey Jsmith,

Can you tell me where you got this CD and or the publisher, name, where it was made or who published it.

I'd love to purchase one next time I get a chance or have some one purchase it for me when they go across the pond.

Thanks
