How to install SLK pedals on a W124
I just recieved my latest modification, a set of SLK pedals, and an R230SL Parking Brake pedal.
The parking brake and brake pedals are simple to install, just pull off the old covering, and put the new one on. The Accellerator is a different story. Heres what I did: 1. Remove Carpet 2. Remove lower holding clip on accellerator pedal. 3. Lift pedal off lower mount, and twist and pull down to remove it form the shaft. 4. Remove the rubber formt he accelerator pedal. 5. Remove covering from slk pedal, try not to cut the rubber, rather stretch it over the larger areas. 6. Cut 1 inch off the top of your pedal backing plate. 7. Stretch SLK pedal covering over the larger area ont he accelerator pedal backing plate until the pedal is covered completely to the top. 8. Use needle nose pliers to pull any rubber circles back through the aluminum plate if they come out. 9. Reinstall in reverse of taking it out. BE careful with the bottom clip for the accellerator pedal, you want to unhook it from the back by slightly squeezing it then pushing it out. Don't brake it or you will have to come up with something else to hold the bottom of the accelerator down. For those of you looking for the part numbers, here they are: Parking Brake Cover - A 230 430 00 84 Brake Pedal Cover - A 170 290 01 82 Acellerator pedal - A 170 300 00 04 Wait is probably 4 weeks or more to get them, price should come out to around $50.00 for the set. This is a real nice mod for the car, the pedals feel great under my feet, and really gives the car a sportier look, and gives it a little more modern update. I'll bet Mercedes is wondering why there is a surge of Pedals being purchased. How often does a pedal cover fail? Pics coming soon. Alon

Cool pedals
Thanks for the description. It will come handy since I got a set last week. I couldn't resist installing the brake pedal but I still wondering about the accelerator pedal. Good idea to shorten it.
Did you also trim of plastic side trims on the back of the w124 accelerator plastic? I think this would make it fit better...

No I only stretched it over the accelerator after shortening the top by around an inch. Makes the pedal look perfect when installed. No need to trim anywhere else as far asI was concerned.
I'll have pics up saturday. Alon

Alon,
You definitely have been busy, where on earth did you get that idea from? Sounds really cool, are you putting the pics here or on your website?
