Question Well, time has come again........ time to move on....

Well, some of you might be aware that I was looking for opinions about SLK320, Boxster S, S2000 and Z3 a year ago.... well, after sitting in all 4, I decided to move away from small roadsters for now(I am 5' 11, 180lb...just won't fit well)......Anyways, after some thinking..... I still decided to part my beloved W140 and move on......

Having do some search, I finally narrow it down to(Figure I would get a slightly used one since I would be driving it for less than 2 years... 3 years max....)

2002 CLK430
2002 CLK320 Cab
2002 E430 4Matic

All are slightly used with very minimal mileage and are priced within 1000 of each other.....

So, need some thoughts.....What you guys think?? I am kind of leaning toward CLK320 Cab since it has least depreciation, but 2004 model is just around the corner.... I am a bit afraid that it might take a price dive once the new model hits the showrooms....

Replacements for CLK430 and E430 are already out, so another good excuse to slice extra $$ off the asking price.... and V8 power/rumble is just too addictive.....

Any thoughts welcome......

I think you made some sound decisions.

CLK 320 sounds like a likely choice. Forget the E as the 211 will surely put a lid on the 210s in terms of second hand value. Thus MHO.

Go with the 320...Good residual value, fun, and better on gas than the others listed..

Of all of the opttions listed, I'd go for the E430.
If you feel cramped in the SLK, you'll probably feel more cramped in the CLK, it's just not that roomy, not like an E class. Too many sniggling little problems with the CLK also.

CLK were build at...

...the Karmann plant in Osnabrück.

They are pretty much the climax of poor quality.

A Coupe with fixed rear windows? Are you kidding?

If I have to choose one of this bunch I would take the E-class. At least some scent of quality. Or go for a Lexus.

Kind regards
Eberhard

Seeing that you do live in Vancouver, BC, I'd go for the 4matic. Great in rain and snow, if you take many trips out of the Vancouver area in winter....

Great, thnx for everyone's common.... anyway, here are the break-down of each...

CLK320A - 4600KM

Xenon, Rain Sensor, Bose, CD-Changer

CLK430 - 8500 KM

Xenon, Rain Sensor, Bose, Multi-contour driverseat, CD-Changer, Sunroof

E430 4Matic - 13000KM

Xenon, Rain Sensor, Rear Reading Lamps, Rear Sunshade, CD-Changer

Anyways, any one has compare the stereo of CLK/E with and w/out Bose?? Are there any dramatic difference between the two??

I have a SLK320 and I'm 6'4" tall, and I fit comfortably. In fact, it's one of the main reasons I chose this car over other roadsters from BMW, Porsche, and Audi.

The SLK is reported to offer Mercedes' best quality. I have about 6K miles on it without a single problem. I've heard there are lots of quality issues with the CLK. The back seat is basically a comforatable seat for small packages. The rear window is almost worthless because it's so small.

If want to stick with Mercedes, maybe you should wait for the new '04 SLK.
