Thumbs up Dyno Day

SoCal DynoDay "I" - Feb 15, 2003
Socal Dyno Day "I", Feb 15th, 2003
Godspeed Dynoworks, Autowerks Direct and BikEater Racing presents:
Socal Dyno Day I, Feb 15th, 2002, with prizes for most horsepower and torque, 2 categories
(forced induction and non-forced induction.)

www.autowerksdirect.com
www.teamgodspeed.com

I am accepting the first 20 people to sign up for Dyno Day "I" at Godspeed Dynoworks in Oceanside, California.
Godspeed has the newst and most high tech above ground Mustang chassis dyno in California. This true loading dyno is
a much more accurate representation of actual horsepower output of your vehicle. (Just figure out your car's weight for the
best results before dyno day.)

Godspeed is offering us a group discount @ $50.00 CASH if we get 10 cars or more, $60 for less than 10. This is per car for 3 runs and plotting of Horsepower and Torque. If you want Air/Fuel or other data plotting and tuning, it would be extra, and you would need a bung for the wideband O2 Sensor welded into the exhaust before the cats, which he can do at extra charge if you don't already have one.

Lunch is probably going to be provided, I am waiting for an answer on this one.

Caravan information can also be added to this thread if you guys want to set some up.

Please cut and paste this name list and add your name to your reply, your vehicle, and if you want just Horsepower/Torque or Data Aquisition/Tuning (extra.)

Call Brad Diermann @ 818-425-7489 for any questions.

SIGNUP SHEET:First Signed up=First in line on Dyno Day!

I dont have any perf mods either, but for $50 I'd put my car on the dyno just to see, but if there are more with perf mods, then dont worry about me. otherwise, I'm down.

It would seem that on a true loading dyno, one could get to max speed of the car. Would be kinda neat to have a picture of the 560 speedo setting somehwere around 140+ without the hassels of trying it on the public roadway.

No promises, but I might try to make it.

Well Dyno day was a great time, awesome to see some of those cars produce as much power as they do!

Here are a few of my numbers, I think some are accurate and others are a bit optimistic......but not too optimistic.

Test 1:
Hp = 247.3 @ 5900RPM
Torque = 255.4 @ 4400RPM

Test 2:
Hp = 247.4 Hp @ 5900 RPM
Torque = 257.1 @ 4400 RPM

As you can see the car performed nearly identical for both runs. The car never really got hot and floated around 95C the whole time. I believe these results are accurate and overall transmission losses were equivalent to about 23%.

Now for the crazy 1/4 Mile Times!

Test 1:
I loaded up the torque converter to 3000RPM and stepped of the break. I let the car shift itself.
1/4 = 14.46 / Trapspeed 103 MPH
0 - 62 = 6.218

Test 2:
I loaded up the torque converter to 3500RPM and stepped of the brake. I let the car shift itself again.
1/4 = 14.19 / Trapspeed 104 MPH
0 - 62 = 5.778

Test 3:
This time I didn't load up the torque converter and just dropped the hammer!
1/4 = 13.11 / Trapspeed 111 :eek
0 - 65 = 5.4

I think all the numbers are about .5 seconds optimistic. Keep in mind this Dyno does compensate for wind resistance and many other forces in the real world. Now I'm dying to see the results on a realy 1/4 mile run!

Here are my results:
235.6 HP @ 5700
260.6 lb/ft @ 3900

My best quarter mile run was:
14.376 @ 101.257 MPH
(loaded torque converter at 3500 RPM, manually shifted, water temp @ 100 degrees)
