With price of gas going up it will soon cost all of us an arm and leg. An Arm for plus and Leg for premium.

Howdy WOW S500,
I was able to get $20 worth of gass the other day at $1.99 a gal before it went up to $2.19. With my short drive to work it should last 2 weeks. By then it should be out of my price range.

I saw on the news the other night an amusing sound byte. Part of a "report" about SUV's, gass prices, and so on...

Fellow said something like, "I like my SUV, I can afford the gas for it, and I'm going to drive it. I don't care what anybody says."

And that's great, so long as he doesn't tailgate me and shine his headlights in my rearview mirror (sedan SUV bitterness there.)

However this got me to thinking. What if he couldn't afford it? For that matter, what if I couldn't afford it? My 260 doesn't use as much as an SUV, but it certainly doesn't sip gas like some of the more efficient, modern cars.

If gas prices start to reflect some of the external costs to car ownership which are currently paid through other means (or just ignored) not to mention wars and stuff, gas prices could really go up. And our SUV owning friends (or us 6 or 8 cylinder Benz lovers) might start to feel the pinch even more than the currently inflated prices.
