Don't forget the pair of 500SELs in "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy. There was a 500SEL in "Beverely Hills Cop" with Eddie too.

Miani Vice had an unusual assortment of S Class MB's, including stretch Limo's with 10000SEL on the back.

My fav with an S class is "Peacemaker" with George Clooney ... no other car could have done what he did to that car ... it was sad, but the 140 took about 6 other cars out prior to going down.

I was watching "Backdraft" tonight, and saw the firefighters break the two front door windows on a 126 to get a fire hose to a hydrant. Funny, really; I hadn't realized that it was a Benz...I had actually thought it was a Beemer...

I don't know which engine it had or what year it was, except that it had an airbag and wasn't a 300SD or 300SDL...given when the movie was made, the car was probably almost brand-new at the time...

Lightbulb old 111 2door convertible>either 220se or 250se

Mercedes Benz S class in motion pictures;

Lets dig back into those memory banks ladies and germs!

Hmmmmm????lemmeseenow>>>>

Oh yes, get a dvd or vhs of "The Harder They Come" with Jimmy Cliff from the early 1970's.

The record company executive drives a beautiful white with black leather ragtop coupe. If I recall correctly, the car is one of the earlier ones (no, NOT a ponton)...between 1962 and 1967, as the grill is of the TALLER variety etc. Ie; not one of the later 280se coupes with the larger engines and the slightly redesigned body.

Some of the OLDER James Bond pictures had "the bad guys" driving the 111 fintail (heckflosse) sedans of either the 220s(e) variety or even the 300se.

Enough for now.
p.s.> does anyone remember the series 1.5 XKE Jaguar that Harold received for his birthday from his mother with the big ribbon and BOW wrapped around said vehicle? @ points for any of y'all out there that can tell me what happened in the VERY NEXT SCENE to said XKE :p

Spo out.

Yes I was about say that too. I only wish my car were in the condition that it was in the movie.

Edit: found a picture from The Peacemaker.

Yeah ... I wonder what they started with and if they had to repair it for the various takes ... it looked pretty darn real time in the scenes.

Hill,

The black MB in Needful Things was a 600. I can't tell the year, but I would have been between about '68 and '80 they all looked pretty much the same throughout those years. See www.m-100.org for more info.

In the movie "Ronin", with DeNiro, they used a 500E as the "camera chase" vehicle. With the added weight of gear, stunt driver, filmographers, etc.. it was the only thing that could keep up with the Audi A8's. This movie has some of the best car chase scenes ever. And on DVD, you can get the directors cut, and explantion of the choreography involved with making these scenes work. Pretty cool.

I love the chase with the E34 M5 and the peugot... they go flying on the wrong side of the road in a tunnel while shooting at each other! They also had a 6.9 in that one too (DeNiro shoots a grenade out of the sunroof during the 1st ambush).
