For those against the war under any circumstances...

An excerpt from a UPI story on people making it out to the Jordanian border:

"A group of American anti-war demonstrators who came to Iraq with Japanese human shield volunteers made it across the border today with 14 hours of uncensored video, all shot without Iraqi government minders present. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor with the Assyrian Church of the East, told UPI the trip "had shocked me back to reality." Some of the Iraqis he interviewed on camera "told me they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start. They were willing to see their homes demolished to gain their freedom from Saddam's bloody tyranny. They convinced me that Saddam was a monster the likes of which the world had not seen since Stalin and Hitler. He and his sons are sick sadists. Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head."

Thumbs up Thanks for the link

I heard that the Pope opposes the war against Saddam. The Pope stated that all wars are immoral. No wonder the Pope failed to oppose the Nazis.

All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

PC Dave:

Thanks for the story and the quote below your signature. I typed it out and put in on the refrigerator in my house for my housemates to read.

BENZ-LGB:

Yes, the pope is opposed to this war, but that is not a matter of faith and morals, so no Catholic is required to agree with him on that. He has more interests at stake than those of only the US.

As far as a previous pope's stance against the Nazis, I can argue with you on that one in another thread if you like. I'd be rude to take over this one. If you do a search, there was a thread a few months back where this topic was talked about. (It may have been you that I was talking to in that thread.)

I'd bet a good amount of money that you WON'T see that story on CNN or our other liberal-minded media...They'd rather show us the protesters who DON'T really know what they are talking about...Partly because they're too busy waving anti-Bush signs and blocking streets and vandalizing property to be paying any attention to reality. Somehow the media have decided that mindless herds of protesters are more newsworthy than someone who thinks for themselves and seeks the truth.

No kidding! They're out there every day. Don't those people have JOBS? No, wait...well, I guess they don't...because most of them are brainwashed students, their professors, and retired ex-hippies having flashbacks!! The people with JOBS are not out there blocking streets and vandalizing...They are continuing the business of making this country as great as it is through work and responsibility, and they are thanking our military for doing the unpleasant task that must be done.

Yup...anyone still hanging onto the end of that rope automatically goes onto my "Disregard everything they say, because they have NO clue what is going on" list.

There was also apparently a large pro-troops (I don't necessarily want to say pro-war because the people were there in support of the troops) rally in Times Square yesterday. That's nice to see.

You just reminded me of something. Here's some media bias for you that I experienced FIRSTHAND.

There was a HUGE Support-America rally at Centennial Olympic Park, here in downtown Atlanta a week or so ago, and there were at least 25,000 people there, right in front of the CNN headquarters. It was organized by a local talk-radio station, and I was there briefly.

http://wgst.com/rallyforamericaphotos.html

Of course when it was reported on CNN and other mass-media, it was conveniently called a "PRO-WAR" rally, and some reporters were saying there were "about 3,000 people", others later were saying "a few thousand". And it could easily be seen RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR WINDOW how many were in attendance! Also, there were NO highlights of the events of the day, or any sound-bytes or video clips of anyone who spoke in support of our troops and our cause.

Immediately after this coverage, there was coverage of what they called a "gathering of well over 25,000 at a PEACE RALLY in San Fransisco, and among the speakers was former GA Democratic Senator Cynthia McKinney", after which they played a clip of a significant part of her speech that day! That babbling idiot embarassment to the state of Georgia deserves airtime, but someone who is speaking in SUPPORT of our troops does not?

How do they know so much about this event, which is on the other side of the continent from their headquarters, yet they pretend to know nothing of an equally huge event occurring quite literally right under their noses?

Not only did they misrepresent the purpose of the Atlanta rally, they grossly under-reported the attendance, and minimized its significance, and gave no details, while reporting in great detail the number of attendees at a "peace rally" (not an anti-war rally?), and who spoke, and what they said.

Pathetic. It makes me sick.

Mike
