Here is another Ebay story. I have sold on Ebay on and off for 2 yrs now and have had a pretty good experience so far with it. I have sold 2 boats,my 84' 300d (diesel don), 2 Volvos, my Explorer, and last week my Lexus es 250!

Monday night I bought a Volvo 240dl after speaking with the owner and feeling good about the deal. I know after reading the description you guys are asking WHY? But then again after talking to him he was real honest and seemed to know his business. Maybe he had a few beers when he listed this one.

Anyway, I buy it and Tuesday I drive 275 miles one way to Spartanburg, SC to meet him from Charlotte, NC. I drove the car and it ran great and was pretty true to the description. So feeling good about it I pay the man cash money and jump in it to head back to Atlanta and back to Dalton. Right.

I am cruising about 10 miles outa Sburg and the OIL LIGHT comes on!

I panic and pull over. I check the oil and it is slap full! I do not get it so I call the guy. He explains how it had a bad oil switch and he had it replaced. He says it is just probably bad, so I agree and hit the road again hittingthe fast lane and holding a steady 75-80mph.

Hmmm, I am staring at this damn light the whole time and listening for anythin strange. I go about 30 more miles and as I approach a concrete divider on my left I hear the echo off the wall. KING,KING,KING,KING! You no that sound. The sound of a rod about to come thru the block. I pull straight over and panic. The motor is gone! Hmmm, maybe there was no oil pressure HUH!?!?

Who knows. I call the guy and give himan earfull. He is cool trying to protect his Ebay profile he agrees to refund my money in full and sends a wrecker almost 120 miles to where the car is to bring it back to Charlotte. I have not gotten my money but it better be here tomorrow!

I hope. This was my first ebay buying experience and it goes to hell. I drove 560 miles round trip plus gas and bought my buddies lunch. I am pissed but happy it happened then and not next week. I am scared to even buy something now and I want my Lex back!

I am going to look at a 83 300d in Atlanta tomorrow. Same owner for 14yrs. I will buy if it is what it seems and I will soon be back in the MB shop more. Anyway just wanted too share experience.My MSN messenger is lighting up so i must go!
