smog check last resort
From another forum:
:::::::::::::::::::: a few people here were talking about easy ways to get around the SMOG sniffer, so here is a little post taken from the RX7 list: >I put in 2 gallons of denatured alcohol into 5 >gallons of gas and it >made me >pass, I was stock except for a streetport. >before alcohol: >HC (PPM): >Measured 146 @ 15mph, Allowed 88 >Measured 83 @ 15mph, Allowed 53 >after alcohol: >HC (PPM): >Measured 25 @ 15mph, Allowed 88 >Measured 16 @ 15mph, Allowed 53 :::::::::::::::::::: I wonder if the exhaust smells suspiciously different. I understand that if you fill up with gasoline after the check you'll dilute the alcohol to the point that there shouldn't be any long term ill effects. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

Good info! (wonder if it works with a diesel )
I'm lucky enough to not live in a emmisions-testing area. If I lived about 15 miles west of here, I'd have to be tested. Testing in Washington state so far is only in the more conjested areas. So far. Just wondering how many others have to be tested across the country?

No Diesel testing in CA but I understand we're not getting the 04 E320CDI.
I'm curious to know if a high concentration of WVO or Biodiesel will improve emissions enough to pass. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

Yeh, would be interesting to see an emision study on using different mixes of WVO in your tank.
