West Coast City
I would like to spend 3 weeks this summer on the west coast. My interests are basically bicycling every day and sailing. What city would you recommend ? I won't have access to a car and will probably be staying at a Marriott Residence Inn

Howdy jamesnj,
Two that are smaller and slower paced are Santa Barbara and Ventura. Then for the big city I would go with San Diego.

Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Ventura are great.
I'd also add: Oxnard (next to Ventura), Newport Beach (has a harbor with sailboats available), Dana Point / San Clemente (Dana Point is a nice harbor with sailboats available, San Clemente has great surfing).

Thanks for the replies, those are all good locations but require a car with the exception of San Diego. You have to be 25 to rent a car and at least 21 at the "not so good" rental agencies.

Why wouldn't you need a car in San Diego?
