Question Putting "flat" sticker on diamond plate

Hello! This may seem like a dumb question, but I have a couple of bumper stickers that I want to stick onto my truck's toolbox. The problem is these stickers are meant to be put on a flat surface, and my toolbox is diamond-plate aluminum (I would put the stickers on the truck body itself, except that I plan to repaint the truck and replace the rear bumper and tailgate someday). It will be difficult to experiment, as the stickers I have (only a few ) are one-of-a-kind things, so getting replacements is pretty much impossible. So, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to stick the stickers on so that they're not badly creased and yet are fully adhered to the surface, so that nothing can get on the back of the sticker and make it unstick.

Thoughts appreciated...thanks in advance!
