1971 280SE 92,000 miles. What's it worth?

This car has mild rust, has never been driven in winter. Heater blower doesn't work, no A/C. All maintenance records. The engine seems to idle a little rough and it starts to shake at around 55mph. Owner wants $5,400. Any thoughts?

Thanks Eric. I guess the price is a little high on this one then. I'm looking for a reasonably priced 4.5. Where's that lot?

That's pretty hard to do in a well cared for D-Jetronic engine.

Not uncommon though if the rubber cap on the ECU behind the right headlight is missing or damaged. If moisture gets in the ECU, the injectors stick open and you can either be entertained by or run away from fuel pouring out of the spark plug holes.
