Anyone wanna take a crack at my computer prob?
 

Here's what I have going on.
About a year and a half ago, I downloaded a free trial version of an image import system from ACD Systems, called ACDsee, I believe it was version 5.0. It was only good for I think 30 days. It worked good, but decided not to buy it.
Evidently there is no real "uninstall" feature to the trial version (thanks, thanks alot). Anyways, not in the "add/remove programs" on my control panel, not that I can find.
If I use the "search" feature on my toolbar, it can't find ACDSee.
But yet, sometimes the computer wants to use ACDSee to view an image. The computer will ask what the location is of ACDSee.exe.
I'm not all that computer literate, so go easy on me.
If anyone thinks they know what's going on, I'm more than willing to listen. i'm about to the point now where I'm thinking on getting an expert computer guy to come look at it (you know, the kind who advertise on the bulletin boards at the grocery stores;) ).

An easy way to get around this problem would be to install another image veiwing program(one that has a proper uninstall feature, I recommend PintShopPro Trial version), and make it the primary image veiwing program.

You can then uninstall the new program, and if all goes well it will reset all the file accosiations to the regular windows ones.

Where could I access where the selection is made for the primary image viewing program? Maybe that's where I can fix this.

In My Computer open up Tools, Folder Options, then select file types. Find the "jpg" and "jpeg" entries and you will see the program associations. Click on change and select the program you want to use as your viewer. You may also want to change the GIF,TIF, BMP and any other image filetypes.

jsmith gives good advice. What has happened is that ACDSee has change the computers registry so that certain types of image files use it. Follow jsmiths advice to set the image files to use something else, the default 'viewer' if you have nothing else installed is Internet Explorer, depending on your operating system you may have to associate with the exectable file itself which is 'iexplore.exe'.
