Is this funny? Sad? or both?
 Thieves known as 'Ali Babas' run towards one of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s palaces as another one uses a forklift to steal a vintage Mercedes convertible, in Baghdad May 4, 2003. Iraqi police made their return in the streets today under U.S. forces supervision, trying to restore law and order (news - Y! TV) in the capital. REUTERS/Jack Dabaghian Someone here mentioned a while back about a rumor that vintage cars were being destroyed at one of Saddam's palaces. Well.. I guess its not a rumor after all.

It looks like it was just set on fire. In a way I think it's sad, but really...who would want to own an MB that used to belong to Saddam Hussein? Same goes for Hitler's MB....would you want to drive around in it?

they had abrams tanks running over the collections at some location to prevent their theft. most of the cars were very low miles / show quality. don't ask me about the logic behind that
