My prom outfit...

Well, naturally I am taking the 240D, all shined up to the prom hehehe. The ladies love it, requested it lol.

But, what you guys think of tails? I wanted somethign different, something vintage, so I rented a tuxedo with tails. Black, with a white vest, and white bowtie. What you guys think of tails on a tuxedo?

I really like them!

I think tails are fantastic. They're a nice tie-in to your vintage automobile.

I'd like to also suggest that you have a driver. A parent wouldn't be cool, but maybe a friend who's a year or two older and would be willing to do it. Riding to the prom in the back of your Mercedes with your girlfriend would be great. Or are you taking more than one girl. After all you did say the ladies requested it.

I took my dad's C230 to prom when I was in HS. We didn't have the 240D yet, I might of taken that then. Naw, the 230 has a nicer interior. As for the tails, I think that it goes better with the old car. The 230 being newer, I went tailless and it worked better. :p Are you going the vest or cumberbun route? I went with the vest and then the little tie thing instead of a bowtie. I kinda wish I had gone with the bowtie, my girlfriend at the time was upset, she wanted the bowtie, not the 'little tie.' Oh well, have fun and drive safe.

I have to agree, skip the tails, morning coat, etc. Classic cut dinner tux, flat front shirt with studs and french cuffs, bow tie, no clip ons. Add the Dunhill lighter and Walther PPK later . . .

LOL

I already rented the tails, and I like them. I am driving, and my date for the night is coming. The back seat will be occupied by my friend and his date, as well as another kid. It's a loaded vehicle lol.
As I said, my date and my friend's date both requested we take the car lol.
I will be bringing the 35MM Yashica and to the prom, taking pictures etc. Hopefully my friend will know how to operate it lol.

Go Kyle! you da man!

Take the 240. It'll do you well!

My prom sucked. I went there in a W210 E220 CDI. However somehow everybody came in a W210 as well...
hehe they were taxis.. :p

I wish I already had a W123 back in Singapore.. (that's where I went to HS), I would have brought it with me!

Good luck!

ps. see if you can borrow that Dunhill Lighter from somebody

Talking

Glad you're renting a cool black tux. You'll have a great time!

Glad you didn't do what I did:

TAN tux with BROWN velvet stripes. 'Course the shirt with all the Austin Powers ruffles and HUGE BROWN VELVET BOW TIE rounded out the total DORK look.

My date's mom made her prom dress, which had ruffles all the way up to her chin.

PS My only saving grace was when one of my best friends, Jamie Sexton, arrived with his date.
His tux was LIGHT BLUE.

The above is a true story. I'm old enough now to laugh!

Hahaha

Initially, I thought I could wear a suit. So, I went down to the local thrift shop and bought literally the most horrid suit you'd seen. Aquamarine jacket, purple undershirt, skinny white pimp tie, black pants, and crocodile shoes. I was pshyced to wear this, and then I found out I had to wear a tux. I was pissed. My suit was only 8 bucks at the thrift store. Ah well, the tuxedo with tails is cooler anyhow, albeit 60 bucks for rental of whole shindig!
