I want one..soooo badd

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2416813913&category=6059

The more I see, the more I fall in love. This would be a perfect second car short of a Mercedes diesel van. I love these vans! I just want to haul wood and sleep in them! God I wouldve brought this to prom if I had it! Its like amazing.

Kyle, get yourself in for some counseling, fast! Run, don't walk! It may not be too late for you!

Ask yourself if you feel safe driving at 65mph with your feet hanging over the front axles...

Ok. That's better.
I actually rode in one of those "way back when". Felt like riding in an aquarium.

When I have money..

I want some type of van type thing. Unimog 404 radio trucks look like really sick and mean vehicles, plenty of room too.
Or the Mistubishi L300 vans...
Or the VW Vangaon Wolfsburg with the seats facing one another, and table.

Truthfully, a Ford Aerostar looks like the best choice of van: reliable, quiet, cheap, easy to get parts, big. And long wheelbase versions too!

Ideally, I'd liketo buy a Fed Ex Sprinter when they start to go into retirement, gut it, paint it black, tint the windows, put like all kinds of cool seating arrangements inside, tables etc. *drools* 2.7 liter Mercedes CDI...DROOL Such a mafia fan!

A Friend of mine (in Chelan) has one of these. Gutless as hell. But I really like the thing. Rides nice, and I do like the passenger seats. Gives a lot more leg room. My brother Had a '96 Dodge minivan, and I hated the passenger seats. Too cramped.

Thats awesome

Ive heard the Vanagons were unreliable as hell, and that certain seals would always dy up, being the first water cooled VWs in a while

There was a website that had info on a 617 into a Vanagon conversion. I found a website with a 5cyl Audi turbo Vanagon but I can't the 617 Vanagon anymore. Of course you can go with a Vanagon TDI conversion.

"Ask yourself if you feel safe driving at 65mph with your feet hanging over the front axles..."

Thats why they called the old VW bus the "Quad bus" as in quadraplegic.

Those Toyota vans are the toughest vehicles EVER built. A 240D is a light-weight in comparision. I have seen many of those vans with well over 500K on the clock without any sort of major repair. They rust like mad, and their integrity is lousy, but they are DAMNED bullet-proof.

They drive like crap though, and I wouldn't want one because of that.
