Will mercedes have an E350 (w211)???

Now that mercedes has already unveiled the ML350, It seems pretty logical that soon they will be putting that same engine into the new e-class. Is anyone able to confirm this??Why build both a 3.2 liter and a 3.5 liter? I mean it sounds logical to dump that 3.2 liter, right?

I thought the 3.5L engine was basically the same as the 3.2 except tuned for more torque. (More suitable for a vehicle the size of the ML)

more torque would make the it feel a little more sportier.

If anything I think the 320 will get smaller when they go to direct injection engines.

The "350" is actually a 3.7L engine, a full half-litre bigger than the 3.2L M112.

The M112 3.2L engine makes 221hp @5600 and 232 lb-ft @3000-4800.

The M112 3.7L engine makes 232hp @5750 and 254 lb-ft @3000-4500.

Marginal gains, and the power is not moved down the rev counter at all. Hhhmm.

Hello,

I found my old post!

I was watching TV today and saw an ad for the 2006 E350 W211. I knew that they were going to transplant that motor!!

My prediction was correct!

Go drive one! With the new M272 (3.5l) v-6, who needs a v-8?
They haul serious butt and get better mileage.
The 7spd helps too, lots o gears to play with.
