What kind of gasoline do you use for your MB ?
After two independent MB service shops and my MB dealership mechanic recomended only one gasoline for all cars especially MBs , I switched . The gas all of them preferred is CHEVRON . They said the gas is a better grade to start off with and the cleaning additive they developed really works great TECHRON . They said my 1989 420 SEL would see a marked performance boost because of cleaner injectors and less carbon on plugs and pistons . It already ran great , but have noticed much more ''pep''. I bought a bottle of TECHRON to clean out my injectors to start out and with using CHEVRON gas will add another bottle every fourth tank or so . Feedback ?

Howdy Mark,
Regular unleaded, any brand in the Mog. |
Well I always used Chevron premium with Techron. And buy Techron additive.
I had a conversation with the fuel truck driver and had it confirmed by Chevron. The premium gas has 1/2 the dose as shown on the label of Chevron Techron additive. On the other side of the coin I had a couple of Mercedes techs warn me about using to much Techron additive. They felt it diluted the oil as it worked down the cylinder walls. Wether this is true I do not know. Now to throw a monkey wrench into the whole idea. I have recently ( 2years ago) started using the gas at a local Super Walmart. The Murphy gas station. I can't tell a difference. Soo Im saving the bucks by using the gas there. I know that they go through a lot each month so it is fresh. We also buy our deisel there. I have been happy with the gas and diesel and really can't complain. Dave |
I don't use gasoline in my Benzes. Gasoline is bad! :D
I will either get diesel fuel at Allsups (If I'm in Decatur when I need fuel), or Conoco if I'm fuelling on the way to or home from work. |
