Rebirth of a legend!! Warning.. it's a FORD!!!!

Ford Motor Company unveiled the first 3 production GT40 supercars at it's world headquarters. The 500 horsepower/500 foot pounds of torque cars weigh in at 3300 pounds. The cars that shocked the world with their 1966 1-2-3 finish at Lemans are back!

I just visited a performance car seller in Annapolis which has only been in business for a few weeks. There is a reproduction GT40 in the show room for $85K. The first impression I got was that it is a kit car, but the sales person told me it is built from the ground up per the exact spec of the original car. I don't know if a reporduction really worths $85 big ones.

The original GT40 is one of my Top-10 favorite cars of all time and I would love to have a replica like the one Alain is building. The new Ford GT is really awesome too...so much so that I would consider buying a Ford if there was any way I could actually afford one!

MSRP on the GT40 is supposedly only around $100,000. But, and like my sister it's a big butt, with only limited production they will probably go for much more. Any original GT40 can't be had for less than a million!
And BTW, www.ford.com has a special section on the GT40 with really cool videos. Check out the one about 'engine animation'. Also the one where it shows them hand building these exotics!
