This week in Austria...

...two guys with some criminal energy negotiated a deal with Citroen, the french car manufacturer. They ordered the quantity of 4000 cars for the police force and another 2000 cars for a catholic charity organisation.

Time of delivery came up, the first batch of cars waiting in Vienna at Citroen Austria for delivery.

They asked the police where the cars should be delivered. The police asked: "Which cars?"

Citroen now has the problem of some hundred cars sitting which no one had ordered

I'm not kidding, thats real

Kind regards
Eberhard

Unbelievable!!!

That they just took someone's word without checking it out or requiring a deposit is just plain stupid!! It looks as if they may need to call Krazy Al to liquidate this overstock !! I can hear it now "No reasonable offer will be refused !!".:p

Unfortunatly, police cars in Germany and Austria are pretty plain stock. I guess, they are going to push those cars on the market. Every dealer will get a couple of them, white is a very unpopular color right know, so it will really look like there might be a good deal.

Kind regards
Eberhard

You know more about these Malibu for Iraq?

If you look carefully through the EPC, you will find interesting information. There are spareparts for a W 123 standard transmission coloumn shifter with front bench which was sold to Syria as police car.

The W 108 was sold to Scandinavia as police car without the chrome trim at the fenders and doors.

There are strange cars out there...

Kind regards
Eberhard
