Benz with a history
Here is a mercedes with a history.1938 mercedes benz 320, 15,500 original miles. Believed to belong to general Goering as a tour car. This name will really ring a bell with serious collectors of vintage german cars. Hermann goering was a world war 1 pilot and a distinguished war hero who won the coveted blue max (22 victories) and the iron cross first class, the last commander of the richthofen fighter squadron during 1918, and joined the nazi party very early, was wounded during the beer hall putsch in 1923. Goering became an early high ranking party official. He was hitler's designated successor until he fell out of favor late in the war. He was convicted of war crimes at the nuremberg trials and sentenced to death by hanging. Goering committed suicide with a cyanide capsule on the night he was to be hanged (october 15, 1946).

$95K? I would have thought it would have been higher than that.... you can get a new S-Class for that price, but in a few years wouldn't have the history and elegance as that of the pre-war Benz. |
