C240/320 review
Ok so me and my parents are interested in the new C and we took out both the 240 and 320 to see whats the difference and all the hype about the "slow 240".
The 240 is not slow and has that bit of a push but I wouldnt complain as much as everyone is. It does rev high but it barely heard and for normal driving it is just fine. The 320 of course there was a difference and I expected it to be a big difference but it wasnt that great....still revs high enough but the handling on these cars are amazing. Anyone ever do a full circle turnaround with these things? WOW...I dont think the back wheels even move when you do that! I was very impressed with the whole car and even with the non-Bose system it still sounded decent enough. As far as quality issues...the only thing I found cheap IMO was the outside door handles...nicely shaped but had that heavy plastic feel and thats with all new MB models. The best "handle feel" I expeirenced was on the w140's.

well since the car is for my mom and she is not a race car driver...then the 240 she said was good.
I noticed all the reports are bashing MB and after reading reports about Jeeps and how bad they are and then owning one which was simply amazing......they can all go screw themselves!

I had a w202 C240 for two years. Obviously this was the previous model to the one you're looking at. I found the performance of the car adequate but not scintillating.
The motor is very good: although it is a 90-degree angle V-6 (as opposed to the more common 6-degree angle) it is very smooth. Some of the techs on this site rate it as marvellously engineered. The 3.2 litre version won Ward's best engine several years ago and is consistently top-rated. It is heavy on gas (my SL500 gets better mileage). You may wish to consider the C220 CDi and C270 CDi diesels. My father is running a new model E320 CDi; having been very sceptical about the benefits of diesel, I am now converted. The common rail diesels offer amazing performance (monster torque) and equally amazing mileage. My dad's E320 is as fast as my SL500 (it packs 369lb/ft of torque at 1,700rpm) and still averages 40mpg. The C270 or C220 will each do much better than this. FWIW, my view is that the w203 is an extremely handsome (albeit conservative) motor car.

I sure do wish we could get a C-class CDI on this side of the Atlantic. If I could get this combo with a six speed I'd order one today....
