Spotted my old diesel on the road last night!
Actually, it was a buddy of mine. He called me on the phone to let me know that he was driving behind my old 300-D in Virginia! I donated the car to the National Kidney Foundation a couple months ago. It now has Maryland plates.
No one else will probably find this interesting.... but I think it's kinda neat!!

Good to see that the car is still around. I plan on donating the 86 300SDL to a local charitly, Dallas Can Acadamy in a couple of weeks.

I donated a Chevy S-10 Blazer to Melwood and they picked it up in Virginia in the latter part of March 2003.
Got a notice this week from the DC Public Works office that it has been picked up from "public parking" as an abandoned vehicle. My brother (the tax accountant) said I should go get it out of impound and donate it to Melwood again. He was joking. Actually, I'd be worried it has dope in it or dead body parts, etc. So now I have to write a letter to DCPW with copies of the donation receipts in order to clear me of ownership responsibility. I'd sure like to know the story on that vehicle and what its been through since last March. I'd also like to see what condition its in now. Ken300D

I met the guy who sold me my Cutlass, 15 years after I bought it! I ws in his neighborhood. He was beaming from ear to ear, tickled to see the car still on the road.

One of the benefits (or not) of selling a relatively rare car such as a Passat wagon TDI, is that it is easy to track.
I sold one with a destroyed front end in April. The new owner rebuilt it, and has been trying to flog it online for more than I paid, two years, 40K and a severe accident ago.

Glad it could be saved...VA inspection much less
stringent than MD's. I still thought it was a swell car, but would have taken too much work to pass in Maryland.

You'll be surprised to learn that the car was spotted in Virginia with current Maryland tags! Go figure. Nice to see you checking in over here from time to time. Haven't been here much lately myself-- house hunting takes a lot of time!
