P-Car 964

Perhaps some of you guys know something about P-Cars as well.

1990 Carrera 2, Tiptronic, probable engine rebuild about 30,000 miles ago. Now has significant oil leak from the top-front of the left bank of cylinders. Right bank is completely dry.

If the rebuild has already been done, I understand that there isn't enough material left on the heads/block to grind them down and match them up again. Is there a fix? Is a new or rebuilt engine the only option? I heard about a guy in Florida who's come up with a fix for this problem, but can't find the information again.

Any thoughts (other than flames for asking a Porsche question at this forum) welcome.

Have You Cleaned off the Engine? to reinspect the source?
Yes the Early c2 c4 had Major problems with loose heads
and The dealer was Installing New Pistons and Cylinders and Cutting the surface of the heads...also the Case Bolts leaked a lot
and The Surface between the cam housing and the heads leak
Dont forget the oil return tubes...They make a Split oil return tube for that..easy to install..I Have done Lots of them!

First source out the oil leak ..Then attack


Also YOU said bank 1/3 front..Inspect the Rocker shafts..
I Have seen Several left loose and they WILL be hard to diag !

I Would clean the engine and add dye then reinspect for the leak

I've heard from Porsche specialists of these problems with 964 models, too.
