it was a wonderful day for ...
a bicycle ride. i rode about 12 miles on this PERFECT afternoon.
it was quite a treat now that the humidity of summer is gone. since the weather here in atlanta has finally changed to FANTASTIC, ive been trying to get in more outside activity rather than hitting the gym. some leafs and the rake took care of the upper body portion. i was riding approx 150 miles a week a few years back (on road bikes), and i wish i could get back into that kind of shape now. |

Awesome! Humidity must be down by now down there. I always loved fall and spring when I lived in the Houston area. You can have summer and winter tho'

Went home this afternoon and got the SL with the top down. Won't have too many more chances to do that this year.

tuesdays rain and gale force winds resulted in:
GLORIOUS weather and fresh/clean air here in ATL! rode approx 30 miles the past 2 days. there is a loop i used to ride frequently in middle GA that follows a ridge thru FDR state park and provides a stop for ice cream in Warm Springs which is where FDR's "Little White House" is. that was his retreat to break from DC and to take his rehab treatments for polio in the natural hot springs. ( i remember taking polio vac, do you?) the loop is approx 40 miles, but i think i can double back along the ridge and keep the distance to about 20 or 25 miles. the entrance has 2 approaches. short and steep or longer but less inclined. i always took the steep approach before, but with older legs and a triple chainring, im thinking the longer path is probably best now that im approaching the age to enter in the "masters" class. i doubt i can push the big gears that i could back when. you know, the older i get, the faster i was!!! |

I'm averaging between 10 and 15 miles/day Monday through Friday and about 30 on Sundays. Don't ride on Saturdays much - too much other stuff going on. Riding the road bike (Bianchi - cro-mo steel frame bike) is, I think, one of my greatest enjoyments in life. Plenty of places to ride in the area where I live too.

eng- how about meeting to ride that partial loop at callaway?
maybe a sunday before the weather really changes for the worst. i'll buy lunch and throw a few beers in the cooler as an incentive. :p stefano- sweet, < 20lbs is a kick-ass bike. i have a columbus road bike, but probably am at least 20 lbs over what that tubing and 32 spoke wheels deserve. |
