eBay feedback padding

Look at this feedback history -

http://cgi2.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=texasstarmotorsport&page=1&items=25

Does anyone think as I do that this fellow/shop is racking up sub-dollar transactions to accumulate a lot of positive responses? Who the heck buys 40-cent pudding coupons on eBay?

What's worse are when sellers rack up their feedback by bidding on (or selling) sub-$1.00 coupons or recipes that are PRIVATE AUCTIONS.

Unsuspecting customers see a decent feedback rating but don't know what items correspond to those feedback comments...

This is called "peach pie" --- it is a disgrace and eBay is going to need to do something about it. eBay makes it VERY clear that their basis for their system is trust, and the foundation of their trust (among memebers) is the rating system they use. When you have a dealer (or other high-end product seller) that is buying $.40 pie recipes, etc. to boost their rating, it is a massive disgrace, especially if they are private. I think the private auction feature for items under $1000.00 needs to be elimated immediately.

Mark my words, this is going to explode in the media for eBay very soon.

The "peach pie" thing again. At least I know what it means now:)

At least that scam is obvious once you examine the feedback....some rotten apples have several eBay names and buy their own products to create an illusion of actual sales. You can really see this with the clumsy ones who sell the same item over and over again.

I think we can see that eBay has already become less a market for individuals and more for dealers.
