a Mercedes CREDIT CARD~!~

I want one!

http://www.bangkokbank.com/Bangkok+Bank/Personal+Banking/Credit+Cards/Affinity+Cards/Affinity+Partners/Mercedes.htm

Does anyone know of any cool credit cards? I'd love a credit car with the MB logo on it. Or maybe even a picture of my car. wouldn't that rock!?

I am shopping for a new credit card and probably gonna pick Citibank

Eric

I've had mine for about the past 4 years. Just another gimmick

For the first year or so, I had so many people ask "Oh, do you work for Mercedes?"

el presidente, very cool!

what are the pro's and cons of the card? if you don't mind saying.

i called and found out there are no fee's if you pay on time, no annual fee, and a 25 day grace period.

sounds good to me. no online auto debit though, tha'ts too bad.

Here's from their site:

"As a valued cardholder, you'll enjoy the Mercedes-Benz Concierge Service, offering a wide range of travel, business, leisure, and specialty services, toll-free and at no charge. It's like having your own personal executive assistant that never sleeps or takes breaks!"

**********

I've never used this service (I assume it's similar to the Platinum Service AMEX gives).....and I rarely use the card. No fee. I think the interest rate is around 9.9% but I don't carry a balance, so this is not an issue for me. I find it funny that when my statement arrives, by balance is X and the box for minimum payment says "None". I guess that means I could 'slide' for a month, just lump that month's interest into the next month....never tried it

**********

I think the bank is a small bank in Virginia or North Carolina somewhere. I guess they gave MBCC the options/service they were looking for in a credit card company. I do recall it was with a larger bank in Delaware for a while, then they switched to the current financial institution.

**********

FWIW, I actually liked the style of the first card they issued....it was the front of the W210 E-Class with kind of a beige background.....maybe they'll put an SL55 AMG on the front of the next one

***********

They may offer a lower interest rate than what I posted above. Call them at (800)960-7401 and they will mail you an application. Or, you can pick up an application at the dealership (according to the website.)

I have one.

It's a Mercedes Benz Platinum Visa, issued through Columbus Bank and Trust.

And yeah, I get comments about working for them or whether I get points towards a new MB.

I showed it to some of the forum members last year when we got together in Dallas to meet suginami...

I don't own a credit card. Cash is way more fun. Surprises the hell out of some places when you plunk down a wad of green stuff.

Not really resistance, but some funny looks. I even paid for my Benz with cash. They had to run over to the local 7-11 for change. But I usually try to have exact change, which even surprises them more. But so far we've never had a problem with it.
We were forced into this situation resulting in some serious credit fraud against us. But we like it so much, we'll stick with it.

I also have no credit cards, nor will I ever get one. I've never had a problem with them, or been defrauded (that must have been a nightmare rickg), I just think they are a bad idea. I get all the convenience I need from my Visa debit card. I have always paid for everything I own with cash, even my boat and I also liked the look on the guys face when I did. No debt = happy me and to hell with paying all that interest for frameshift wealth. They are giant traps; they own many people. Besides, what's wrong with living within your means??

MAKE SURE you cardholder agreement limits your liability.....my sister's checking account was debited $4600 off her debit card. Took almost a month to get the bank to re-deposit the cash into her account! She is still dealing with the identity theft issue.

I only use my debit card anymore as an ATM card. Period.
