Massive Search and Rescue here today...

or recovery, depending on how you look at it, and also depending on whether or not you believe that a parent could actually lose a child in the flat and clear woods like we have around here. See link to story below. Charleston seems to be getting a rash of children "lost" around Christmas. A couple years ago it was a little boy who got "lost", only to be found in a pond behind his house after a similar scale search. They found tap water in his lungs and his parents were eventually jailed. Good thing the parents didn't know anything about Forensics. The fact that these cases mobilize tremendous manpower at great expense should be taken into account when these parents eventually get caught; deception should mandate harsh penalties. It really is a shame. The current victim is only 2 1/2 yrs old. I doubt he made it through the night (27deg last night). His father should be strung up if found guilty...

"Lost" Boy

I do not get it? If the boy was walking with his father how in the **** did his father lose him? In anycase, even if found, the fahter should be charged with soemthing. Not being able to keep an eye on your child while walking together????

That's really saddening.

It reminds me of something that happend in my neighborhood while I was a child. This lady took her two or three year old son to the recreation center with her to play tennis. While she played, he wandered off into the nearby woods and drowned in creek that was less than two feet deep.

She and her husband took his swing set down, sold the house, and moved. I can't imagine trying to get past something like that.

Good news!! They found him alive the next morning in some bushes. Amazing. Apparently he's overweight like most kids and it saved his life. I can't believe he made it overnight. I almost feel bad for being such a pessimist...
