love the car bruce! you will too!

Don't confuse the XJ with the X type. The X type is a Ford through and through. I think though that in '98 they still had Lucas electrical in them.

Jags are awsome, they are one of the most elegant cars on the road. If thats a 1998 it would be an XJ8. (thats what it looks like)The XJ6 ended in 1997. After the Benz a Jag will probably be my next car, or an S600.

use the Force!

Have someone take a pic of the car with you sitting in the drivers seat. If you look good in it, then buy it. :D

why not

If someone handed me a car like that on a platter I'd take it too, why not, as you said, you can always sell it later if you don't like it, maybe a nice benz will find a way into your hands while you drive the jag :)

Man, I'd love to have that car. I'm with you, John.

Gorgeous car, fun car, BIG $$$ for maintenance and repairs. Go for it if you can afford the care and feeding. :)

We of the "buy it" contingent have hundreds of years of accumulated human wisdom on our side.

Oscar Wilde: "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it."

Francis Bacon: "Riches are for spending."

Shakespeare, through the mouth of Polonius, updated: "Costly thy vehicle as thy purse can buy."

Who would dare to argue with such obviously superior intellects?:D

Well I purchased the Jag today. Drove it all weekend. WOW, drives and rides like a dream. I'll post pictures of the car as soon as all the snow we got today is cleaned off. Thanks alot for all the replies and advise. I'll keep everyone posted.

BTW. I really loved my E320, was very upset went I had the accident. But, since I was put in the position to buy a car unexpectedly, I had to go for this deal. Thanks again

Pic to follow.

My hat goes over my heart for your departed car and congratulations on the Jaguar.

The King is Dead, Long Live the King.

Where'd you get that tall sails and wind quote? I like it a lot and would like to steal it from you if its yours.

I don't blame you at all.

While I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase a Jaguar, I'm pretty sure that I would do the same thing you did, especially considering the fact that you know the service history of the car and the unbelievably low price.

Good luck.

looking good bruce! :p

i think you made a good choice. i am envious.

ThrillBilly 01-26-2004 09:24 PM

oh yeah, as i mentioned in the crashed 320 thread:

you are a major ******* if you dont rip the hoodstar off the the crashmobile. and im not talking with a wrench. brace 1 foot on the grill and yank like hell! it will come off. :D

my totaled 300e star now serves as a pull on one of the ceiling fans, and on "special" occasions is mated to a phat gold chain, and provides a little bling-bling something-something! :p
