My wife now wants a MB. She drives 90 miles a day, I can spend 10 to 15 grand, what would be the best car for her? I own a 83 300sd and love it. Any advice????? steve

You can buy a SUPER MINT "show room" type 300SD for under that price range.... but you can also get a 210 E300 diesel in that range as well. Thats *if* she likes diesel....

if its gas.. then in that price range you have a lot of choices, but its better to find out the size she would like.

Like a 4cyl W210 gasser that's not available in the US only the Diesel has a little more torque off idle. I believe 0-60mph takes about 10sec.

Find one to test drive but don't tell her it's a Diesel. See if she notices.

You could also get a really nice C230 or C280. The people that have them on this site always talk about how reliable, nimble and comfortable they are. We almost bought one but we drove the E300 Turbodiesel first and the C280 Sport we drove after was a little bit of a let down. I would heve been happy with the C280 but it was for the wife. End of story.

Seriously, yes, because of the 10-15 grand limit.

haha, there you go!

Back on topic...I'd say the 1996 C220. Reliable, great on gas, built like a tank. Simple to work on.
