How far North do I have to go for decent skiing...
I have been wanting to go skiing for quite some time with my family.
I prefer not to fly as I do not get along with large flying objects that well. I fly only when needed. Anyway, is there decent skiing anywhere in Georgia or SC? Or do I have to go to NC? Thanks

No place in SC or GA that I know about. NC is all granular, like TN, but they might have something after this past weekend. Still, I think the closest "good skiing" would be VA or WV. It really depends on what you consider "decent", but granular conditions are not that family friendly in my opinion...

The best mountains I know of besides the great ones out west would be in VT and upstate NY. My three favorites of Cannon, Killington, and Gore. Killington is so huge you can get lost very quickly. But it never gets really crowded. Gore and Killington have some sick double blacks.
