I'll take Shakespeare for a 1000, Alex

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Yeah right, that cracks me up. I love the "40 things never said by Southerners".

Those people don't even know where the term comes from. Catholic Priests? Gimme a break!

I redneck is called such because their necks are sunburned from working out in the fields. My father is one, and quite proud of it I might add.

It's not worth registering for MBCanada just to straighten them out. RickG, would you like to take care of that?

-sigh-

Just tried to lighten it up here. You know, an alternative to why we shouldn't have attacked Iraq, blah, blah, blah. But again, too much taken too seriously.

Yeah, no problem-o Ted. I just sometimes get frustrated here. Maybe I'm the one that takes things too seriously

Actually it doesn't. Technically I am a "redneck". It does come from farming, though. The back of a farmers neck was red because the driving lines for the horses are looped over your shoulders when you walk a plow. They rub on the back of your neck and make it red (I know this from my own experience!!). Just another one of those useless things we horse people know...It really was applied to anyone working horses...

And I don't think this thread will get ugly. We, in the south, can't hold the northern members comments against them. People say strange things when they're cold for 6 months out of a year. 71 degrees forecast here for Friday...

Oh man. I bet your northern neighbors could use a dose of that!

Sunny and 77 in Tampa right this minute. I guess that's why my dad's neck is sunburned.
