I spent the last couple of days working with a product called GFI Mail Security.

It is a virus detection and content checking package. What is of interest to me is that you can specify known users within an organization. If the user isn’t known, you establish a rule to simply delete the mail. This provides a nice cure for the relentless numbers of virus bearing NDR emails currently flooding the net and many organizations. Some of my customers are getting over 1000 virus bearing mail messages per *hour*. It is chocking their current email server and overwhelming current virus detection software.

Stuff is pretty cost effective too. It’s $315 for 25 user license.

Thanks for the tip Tracy, i'll look into that, we are getting bombarded here specifically from email servers in Italy

GFI also makes LANguard which is one of the best tools on the market.
