ABS motor runs constantly - 1992 300D
My ABS light came on tonight about a mile from home. When I got out of the car I heard what sounded like a small electrical motor running under the hood. When I opened the hood I discovered a part near the front of the engine compartment on the drivers side that sounds like it has a small motor running inside. The top of the part has a black plastic cover with ABS on the top and brake lines that run to the master cylinder. I turned the engine on and off a few times but the ABS part continues to run. The only way I could get it to stop was to disconnect the battery.
Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, Dale |

I had the exact same thing happen on my wife's Infiniti G20, and had to disconnect the battery to turn the ABS motor off, too.
The shop diagnosed it as one of the ABS sensor's at one of the wheels.

Thanks for the help. Do you know, are the wear sensors and the ABS sensors the same thing?
