Oh, oh,.......problem on the horizon ?

This is the short version of my sob story:
Ordered 4 Bilstein shocks & paid for them with my M.C.
Vendor sent them via FedEx Ground.
After waiting for several days, called vendor, got the tracking number. Tracking history says, the goods were left at my front door ( 10 days ago ).
Never happened!
Contacted FedEx & they are checking into it.
My next question is, who is responsible for this ?
Appreciate your comments, advise, hand-holding, whatever.

Isn't FedEx required to get a signature? We've had stuff dropped off before, but I thought that was sort of bending the rules since we've also had FedEx people stop back for later delivery attempts and even call. Best of luck, I hope FedEx just gives you your money.

Thanks for the kind words.
I don't want the money, I just want my shocks.

Pretty sure that wasn't the case.
They claim to have made the drop at 8.45 am, and I got home at 9.30 am.
Since i live wayyyy out in the boonies, ( crime-free btw. ), that scenario is too unlikely.

Call MC and let them know you have a dispute with your billing from whomever you purchased the Shocks from. They will put a stop payment on the order. Now when FedEx and your supplier get it straightened out you can call MC and let them know that all is well and the payment can be made. Until its correct MC can stop the payment.
These are your rights under credit card usage. Read the fine print Always use a Credit Card with online or mail purchased. It gives you this protection.
Now if you use paypal for a purchase, then you can contact your bank and the local FBI for wire fraud if your being screwed with.

give it a few days they might pop up. At my former job this happened a lot and they would just show up out of the blue most of the time

The sendor can request "no signature required" and I often do so since the delivery times are usually when the recipients aren't home.

Expensive or sensitive material should require a signature, and the courier will make a delivery attempt, leave a door tag indicating such with an attempted future attempt. If that delivery attempt is unsuccessful, then the courier leaves a note indicating what station to visit in order to get your package.

If you or the vendor knows the tracking number, you can visit fedex.com to track the shipping info...if it was sent back to the station, it should say so.

Let me know how it goes, or PM me the tracking number, and I can do a little research too.

Thank you for your concern/interest.
I'm still working on this.
I DO NOT want to revoke payment from the vendor, as he obviously did his job.
Since the nearest terminal is only 20 min. away from me, it really would'nt have bothered me to go there for a pick-up.
If you have any spare time, the tracking # for this shipment is 069842510001671.
I would just like to get my shocks, so I can install them.
Thanks manny
P.S. Please don't go out of your way for this.

Check around with your neighbors. This happened to me with a parts delivery once. My address is 5207, it got sent to 5027. In fact now that I am writing this, it happened a couple of times! Can't remember what made me think of this, but I did, and she had the box.

EDIT: The thing that made me think of it was that it said "Delivered to side door @ xx:xx O'clock". But I didn't have a side door, so I went looking for similar addresses that did. Then I went up and knocked!

I did just that.
My number is 7464, went to 7446 ( in case we're dealing with a dyslexic person ).
No luck.
Called a few neighbours as well, none of them received a parcel from FedEx.
I think the key person in this whole scenario is the delivery man. Got to talk to him.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

That thought has crossed my mind too.
Now, to get a hold of that little elusive guy.
I even went to their terminal last friday, to check for myself, but it was locked up solid.
Nobody home.
How much more effort am I expected to put into this project ?
