manufacture's owner "loyalty" rebates?
ive been noticing all the pitches for these "rebates" being advertized lately, and curious as to how they really work.
a guy on another forum was explaining that he was considering upgrading his ride because he had a $7k rebate in hand. my guess would be that if you came in, made your best deal on a new ride that was essentially the same "good" deal that any other shumck would get, and then whipped out a $7k coupon: that a very long list of "restrictions" would suddenly apply. probably the biggest of which would be a trade-in of the same manufac, adding yet another variable into the dealers bag-of-tricks to determine the size of your check. new price, trade value, loan and the value of your loyalty to the brand. anyone have any experience with these discounts? PS- im SO sick of rebates that i could hurl. |

Still have my ML rebate coupon that MB sent me...
...I'm sure that they will devalue my trade-in or something in order to not make it matter. Fortunately, I'm holding on to my current one.
