I have discovered 2 free antivirus and spyware programs that are down loadable. Both highly rated by PC Magazine and Maximum PC. They both found stuff in my computer that I didn't know about and wanted to get rid of. They also remove, fix or quarentine virus or spyware.

This is always appreciated as far as I'm concerned. We have a perpetual onslaught of things attacking our computers. Regardless of what operating system we run on our computers, we can all roll up our sleeves and take care of business. These are _our_ computers, after all.

There was an earlier thread about this where a couple more possible cleanup programs were mentioned. Some of them might be useful to you too. AdAware and CWShredder come to mind but there were a couple others too.
