I’ve come to really cherish the annual race to the bottom that is the quality comparison.

Beween harmonic balancer failures, electrical fires and tire failures I guess you just have to shop for a good warranty program instead of a car

What's the deal with the new PSD's? Just currious...

At least Ford is fast enough to recognize the problem. Us with our beloved MB, we will continue to bleed oil.

Ya know, that is something that puzzles me as well. My 300E was leaking oil and tranny fluid. When I had the drivetrain out I replaced the transmission and all the oil seals in the engine. I was very careful to follow recommended procedure in replacing the timing cover. Well, it still leaks. My Accord of the same year model has never been touched and it is as dry as the day it was made. Does luxury = leaks? It's pretty embarresing to leave oil stains on someone's driveway.

It is basically a combination of poor enginerring design and defective components, same goes with the wiring harnesses on some models. MB in my opinion is no longer the way it used to be.
