What's the most un-European American car?

Hit me with some of your odd automobiles.

You know, the sort of bizzareness that you never find here.. such as large but inefficient V8 engines of only 135 bhp, leaf springs, 2 speed automatics, bench seats, microwaves (okay maybe not quite the last one).

Looking forward to it!

Hey, I thought that bench seats were really good. Roomy, comfy...

Do you get the Speed Channel over there, Pentoman? I'm asking because they've got an American Muscle Car show that profiles some good ol' American beasts from time to time. Some are very interesting.

Surely the Hummer- that's pretty odd and it sho is ugly. That's the kinda thing only Chris Eubank would have.

My Chevy pick-up is pretty much all-american, it's got the bench seat, leaf springs in the rear, the ugliest gauges I've ever seen on a car and is about as comfortable to drive as a breezeblock.
Great for hauling stuff around tho.

What about the Trans Am like Burt Rynolds drove in Smokey and the Bandit?
A gas eating 6.6 that depended on brut power (most of it's production not the gutless years) I never see european cars with massive decals on them or goddy looking interiors.

I kind of like some American cars because unlike European cars there cheap to work on and you can get big hp for little $$. I know there junk, but fun junk. I think a big block Vette's, and Dodge Vipers are real cool. And how can we forget the original GTO and Mustangs? 500E's are cool but a 10sec Mustang with straight pipes and a blower would be awsome! But my insurance company doesn't think so.

Nuthin' like the deep throated roar of big Dodge Charger. It owned straight roads. I had its little brother, a '65 383 Plymouth Fury II. It shed parts like a farmer's hounddog sheds fleas.

You know how it is when you go shopping for a few things and so decide against carrying a basket? After a while, can good and chips and stuff start conspiring against your tactile senses and you start dribbling articles like Mr Bean. That's the way those old Chryslers were with parts. I spent a lot of time putting parts back on that car or working on the big Holly 4 brl. worked on that sucker in every state between Natchitoches, LA and Norfolk, VA. Fool and his money.

But I got smart: I bought an old 300e without records and M-B bought Chrysler. I think this is more than coincidence.

Whats the big deal with turning and stoping? We have a big country with a lot of straight roads. Why would you want to turn or stop?

Ford Edsel or Model T
The Model T broke away from Karl Benz's creation in the automobile and went into mass production the key here in the US
