Kids threw water ballons at my car....
On my way to class today I went my normal. I saw this young kid duck behind a bush knowing he was about to do something. I go by and her thud thud. Her is where the kids got a scare. I nailed the brake went into reverse tires roaring (knew nobdy was behind me) I saw the kids run away so I got out and chased them untill they started into people fenced in yards. Called *FHP on my cell phone and went to the door of the house they threw them for, Sure enough she had a son and he had a blue shirt on. The kids are getting a visit for the Shiereff from what FHP told me. Their mother is also supposed to call me tonight
Would you have let it slide or done the same? |

You did good. Today water balloons, tomorrow rocks, next week bullets.
I'm having a bit of a problem with that sort of stuff now and when I have the chance I do persue it. BTW for me it was snowballs at police cars, but any kid can outrun a police car on ice |

I was just really mad because of my car being egged, atenna ripped off and head light bashed along with the van being keyed back window shot out (bee bee) and the pickup tailgate being stolen so was ready to kill someone.
We have a CC TV system I plan to hook up so I can see who is doing the damage and presue it. You might want to consider the same. BTW you may have been able to out run police cars but you get a pissed off mom and whoa. My mom chassed 2 kids down one for doing that and did about the same thing but did not call the police |

I'm mixed on this one. I have great memories of throwing snowballs at cars as a child. It's the sort of thing boys do.
Now, if it causes the driver to lose control of his car or does physical damage to their car, that's a problem. 'Course, who's to know when that would happen? So it technically shouldn't be done..... but it sure was fun!!

I saw no problem dealing with those kids in that manner...
...I remember years ago of some "mischievous" tykes who got their kicks dropping cement blocks from an overpass to speeding cars below......probably started out thowing "harmless" water balloons and eggs! I'm all for nipping those things "in the butt"!

Just my humble....
but a word to the parents might have been sufficient. I'm sure the cops have better things to do than hassle kids over a water balloon. |

There should be a publicly funded research study to find out how many inmates sitting on death row started out their life of crime with a hand tossed water filled latex projectile . . . :p

I agree with today baloons, tomorrow rocks, but when responding to something like this always be CAREFUL AND REASONABLE!
Not too long ago in Atlanta a group of high school girls were rolling the yard of another girl. The girl's father comes running out of the house. The girls jump into their cars and flee. The father gets into his car and pursues one of the cars. It wrecks and at least one of the girls is killed. I think they were all high school cheerleaders... The exact details are getting fuzzy now, but you get the gist of it. Who was more wrong? The Dad, or the girls? Tragic, Tragic, Tragic.

All you got to do is level a bead from the 45 on them and they won't target your car anymore.

Water balloons are a "gateway" projectile. First balloons, then snowballs, eggs, rocks, bullets, RPG's, criuse missiles, then finally "the big one".
I propose we ban all water balloons. Remember, balloons don't kill people, people kill people. Charlton Heston weighs in "you can have my water balloon when you pry it from from my cold, dead hands!!!!!" Finally, an issue worthy of debate in campaign 2004. |
