Back in the MB saddle
 

Well, after four days driving the new (to me) 95 E320 Wagan, it feels so good to be behind the wheel of the "Benz". After losing my E320 sedan in Jan. I really missed the driving experience of the E Class. My Jag. is a great sedan, but such a different feel. I didn't relize how much I missed the solid enjoyment of driving the tank like MB. Just wanted share my thoughts.

Being pretty new to MBs, I'm curious about something. I drive my '95 E320 to work, and in the lot I also see an S320 that looks to be from about '95 as well. I love the way the E320 feels, but the bigger the car, the better I tend to like it. How does the ride of an S320 compare to an E320?

I never owned an S series Benz, but I drove many of them for extended periods. The ones I drove were 2000 and older. Both sedans and coupes. They all impressed me. But they definitly have a big car feel. They will float (for the lack of a better word) around the road somewhat due to the supension and weight. Very stable ride but more cushy. The E series is considered a mid-size while the S series is a full size. It's a matter of choice, but for pure driving pleasure everyday to work and around town, etc. I perfer the E series.

BTW. El Pres. that's not Lynns SL your talking about is it? LOL. Just what I need.

It sounds like perhaps an S-series is what I should look for. Confession: I own, LOVE, and unfortunately need to sell, a 1977 Ford LTD. I know all about that feel of a big car floating around - I know it, and LOVE it. Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, I desperately wanted one of the big square Lincoln Town Cars!

OK, Sounds like you will be very happy and enjoy the S class Mercedes. Now all you have to do is start test driving some cars and pick the one you like. Just make sure you buy a Starmark warranted benz (dealer) or have a private owned car checked out by a compident mechanic before investing your money on one. The repairs for any deferred maintainance (put off by the previous owner) can be very expensive. Good luck.
