Do you get tired of YOUR Mercedes or Mercedes in general?

As some of you here know, I used to post here and on the MBCA forum ALOT. I started driving MBs when I was 16 till now 23. Many cars have come and gone, but a couple MBs survived. But...

I am finding MBs boring and been moving to different marquettes... is there any cure for my boredem?

Im NOT trying to be sarcastic, snobbish, or anything of that nature... Im just loosing my interest and need some "boost". Any ideas?

Drive a Neon for a while.

The question can go deeper than what you're driving. Maybe you're tired of your commute. Maybe you're tired of your routine. Maybe you need a hobby. Please don't look for excitement on public roads.

I don't drive these big honking cars because they're exciting, I drive them because they're comfortable and make me feel safe. If I want driving to be exciting I'll get into autocrossing, track events the Silver State Classic.

I don't get tired of MB's, or mine. I really enjoy mine, but its only been two years. Do I wish I had a sportscar to supplement my driving experiences? Yes.

Hmmm, depends on my mood. Sometimes I wonder about how much fun it'd be to have a BMW 3-series. Still, our Benz has lots of safety features and handles pretty well (that's what i keep reminding myself when the lack of low-end torque and the brain-dead auto transmission start to irritate me).

Variety is the spice of life...
You're young...try different marques...try as many as you can. You may find something that you like better or not, but you won't know until you try.

Supercharger...... Its cheaper than another car.

But seriously, Mercedes are kool to me cause I dont drive my Mercedes like a Mercedes, so people always give me looks and junk, rag on me, because i do the Magnum burnouts and powerslides for absolutely no good reason. And its a lot funner in a car that shouldnt really do that sort of thing. However, I do plan on getting a second sportier car, that doesnt weigh as much as a Freightliner. But not new ones, they're all garbage. Go ahead and test drive some asian and american cars, if you like them better, then see a psychiatrist. Somethings wrong...

It may be a phase...

I've seen your threads on the Rolls Royce site a time or two, as well. So maybe you're like some folk (me)- just a car bum sort of person that has no particular loyalty to a brand. Instead, you just like the "automotive experience." MB folks will give you a lot for your hobby entertainment dollar (as evidenced by this board), but there may be a pick-up truck out there calling your name, or a Bentley, or a muscle car, so you may move on at some point. Sure, when finances improve later in life, you may get to scratch several itches at one time, but not right now (I guess). So go wherever the "fun" seems to be, learn as much about something else out there as you now know about MB, and enjoy the expanding horizon. I enjoy a national GTO meet as much as an MB concours... just got back from the national Pierce- Arrow meet yesterday- talk about obscure! Makes the RR/ Bentley arena look almost pedestrian! Don't want one, but enjoyed seeing something new... although there was a '27 model for sale on EBay... just kidding. But if you want a 'boost' to stick around MB for a while, this is certainly the place for it! I sold my MB back in Jan., but I still am a regular visitor to this site. Don't feel "stuck"- either get reinvigorated or enjoy watching someone else take over where you leave off.

Wink The 500E really puts me to sleep...

NO I am amazed every time I drive it. The best way to fully appreciate the 500E, is to drive something else, period. My car is 13 years old (10/91 build date) and I just came back from a business trip doing 230km's in some spots. No rattles, no fade, just SOLID. Yeah, I would like to burn around in a new Porche or my old Grand National but the 500E is an incredibly well built auto and I really do love it. Cheers!

Shaun

I'm only tired of them because I haven't replaced any of them with a fresh model for many years.

But conversely, I haven't driven any other marque in the same period, and you can really appreciate what you've got when you start driving the alternatives...

Hi guys, thanks for your advise and opinons so far, keep them coming...

-----Well, I HATE and WILL NOT detail cars. Why spend 2 days doing the engine pressure wash and zaino stuff just to have it looking like crap 1 week later? Try this with 11 cars and it gets old and tiresome QUICK.

This is SOO unlike me 2-3 yrs ago, i used to love detailing cars.

------Like some of you guys, I have had my MBs for a while now. So they have lost that "new car feeling". After a while you have that mentality where "as long as it runs i dont care"

KOTT--- Yes I do own and post on the rolls royce boards alot. Although that is starting to become old. Your right MB gives you a lot of "bang for the buck". Parts for the RR costs 3-4 times more.

Also 8-10 MPG, $70 for a gas tank, nonstop lucas breakdowns or "fail to proceeds" is getting kind of old.

Maybe i need a KIA or HYANDI with 10yr/100,000 mile warranty
