Thumbs up Mr. Clean Car Wash

This product works great! I had my doubts but I thought I would give it a try. Clean car with no film on the windows or spots. It is worth it. A soap refill is only 8.99 Canadian and a new filter is only 7.99. This will last for 12 washes I washed my car today and I am pretty excited about how good it looks. Cheers!

P.S. The product itself is $24.99 Canadian

Shaun

The Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" works well too. Go to their website for coupons.

I advise strongly against this product! I never seen my paint so rough and "unwaxed like" since I used this. When it rained the rain was like glue on my car it was a disaster. Yes it works as should but whatever those drying agents are its a total nightmare!!

If you dont like your paint smooth and water sticking to it like glue then by all means!

I have read in other forums for information when I was thinking about getting it a few months ago. The soap you use will leave a film on the paint so the water will flow off like a sheet of water, unlike a well cared car with wax where the water will bead. You paint will look dull due to the film. It's not worth the 15 minutes you save to dry your car. My 0.02

Perhaps the bad effect is from not following the directions. The soap is supposed to be rinsed off with regular unfiltered water before turning the switch to finish the rinse with the filtered water, which is the "secret" to the non-spotting drying.

As with most MB people I like to find solutions . . . I also hated spots from washing. A pair of household water filters in parallel (thought it might diminish restriction) with the smallest micron filters I could get at the local Martha Stewart mounted to a wooden, self-built frame did the trick for me. Three feet of garden hose into a Y plumbed in and another out. I hook my garden hose to the out and wash & rinse. I had wondered why my household filtration system wasn't doing the job and I still don't know but this arrangement either works good or else I felt so accomplished dreaming it up that my imagination allows me not to see spots . . .

Anyone else address the spot problem?

My only solution to spots was that i usually wax it every time I wash and that usually gets rid of all the spots, especially after 2 coats. Yea, i have rubbed the paint off, but its a cheap repaint from the previous owner.

I use one of those California whatever squeegee things and a chamois cloth for the little bits it misses. Works for me - no spots and takes about 5 minutes.

Leaf Blower works great. Make sure the car is wet when you start and blow out all the seams and mirrors first. Obviously work from the top down. No spots.

The only other suggestion I can make is to make sure that the car is parked in the shade when you wash it and dry it. If it's been in the sun it will dry unevenly with the leaf blower.
You're not supposed to wash a car that's been sitting in the sun anyway. Good Luck!

I tried it on all our cars following their directions!

The cars looked horrible afterwards and when it rained, even the wipers had trouble wiping the window due to all the filmy residue.

Mr clean will stay in my toilet bowl and out of the garage!

I get my son to wash it and dry them afterwards....no spots.

If it takes anyone more than 5 minutes to dry your car with a chamois, you're moving pretty slow...
