Good quality garage cabinets and tool storage

Hi. My garage has been a mess since I moved into the house 4 years ago. I need my tools, parts, and shop supplies organized and my wife wants her garden and yard stuff organized. I've built plenty of basic work benches in my day, but I'm looking for something nicer now, including under-bench, overhead, and full-height closing cabinets. It's a wife requirement that things be put away behind doors.

If I buy new, where's a good place to shop to get good quality stuff with a variety of tool storage options for a reasonable price?

Harbor freight has a nice assortment of very shiny tool boxes. i cannot say what the quality is though.

The best bang for the buck if your doing to out fit an entire shop is pallet racking.

I have a small shop, so I use 2' wide uprights with 2' deep shelving. Unfortunately the 2' wide is rare so you will likely have to purchase new, at least the uprights. If you are doing a whole shop and purchasing all in one truckload it really is economical.

You're in Ohio where bankruptcies are going through the roof, plenty of top quality near new cabinets are crossing the block....

I have some of the Seville Classics Stainless Cabinets and wood top workbenches. These are well built and look good. They make cabinets for wall mount floor standing and with wheels. The benches have an overhead tray with a steel pegboard back a light and outlets.

I would not be opposed to this idea, but I'm not an auction hunter. I'd have no idea how to go about this, and I assume my day job would get in the way since I'd have to see what I'm bidding on.

I've not heard of them. Looks nice, I'll have to spend some time on that site.

Failure to personally inspect whatever you buy is asking for trouble, bew it new or not .

Nobody say 'here we have cheaply made cabinets' .

I like buying used rolling tool carts on CL of FB marketplace. IMO, the shallow metal drawers of tool carts with LOTS of drawers are ideal for tool and small part storage. I have installed used wall kitchen cabinets up high. I have folding tables that can be used in the driveway for more space. I can’t say my garage is any dream garage though.

I prefer open shelves over cabinets in the garage. The garage is an active place for me and opening cabinet doors adds extra steps to my tasks. I can understand if looks are more important for others.

All my shelving is made from 3/4-inch plywood with either framing or shelf brackets. Anything thinner will sag under the weight of my stuff. Shelves are 2' deep, unless they are overhead, then they are 18" deep with shelf brackets.

Workbenches are made from 2" x 12" boards framed underneath to a custom height (I'm tall).
