My buddy who just bought a W116 300SD (that I've been helping him bring back to its former glory) noticed me admiring a windshield sticker on his car, and bought me one.

Also stopped by autozone this morning and purchased literally all their 2.5" exhaust pipe. Still need to grab some more, meaning I'll stop by another autozone after work. Behold my "mobile welding" Honda Civic

Just installed my repainted brake booster. Everything is coming together and looking nice!

Can't wait to get my engine in this weekend.

Thanks! I even glued the original part number sticker back on it after paint.

I had a little brake fluid in it when I pulled the master cylinder, so I'm replacing the master and I washed out the booster before paint. Hopefully it won't be an issue, since I had no brake problems when it was last running.

Wanted to show you guys the 1979 W116 I've been helping my friend with. Yes, those are 15" original Porsche 911 Fuchs. They have 35mm offset, sitting on 20mm 5x112 to 5x130 adaptors. They also cut down on unsprung weight, since they are forged.

Second year of the OM617 turbo I believe, runs pretty well. He practically stole it, the PO had it in the family since the early 1980s and it lost reverse (adjuster backed out on the 722.120).

Post Those W116's

Folks really seem to love or hate them, it's nice to see some being cherished as they should be ~ I foolishly scrapped a few super low mileage W116's because I simply don't care for the S - Klasses period .

Looking back I wish I'da made some effort to get them new owners .

Handsome car. I am with Nate, I prefer the smaller W123 model. Those wheels are probably worth some $$$.

I also prefer the W123 by far.

Big day today, engine is in. Had some issues, but it all came together.

All loaded up and ready to go in the AM.

Finally in

I'm tired and sunburned, so I'm going to hop in the shower, get some tacos with my better half, and enjoy the rest of my weekend.

Special thanks to my dad and my friend Mark for the assistance today.

Thanks Bill.

Friend also gave me his ratty old chrome bundts with decent tires. Two are pretty worn, other two have a good amount of life left. At least all are the same size (205/70R14), and none have a DOT date code from 2003 (like my old ones had).

I mounted them myself during lunch today. Probably lost about 10 lbs of water weight because it's so hot out in the shop.

99 in Orange, about 78 in my office even though I set the AC to 70 as soon as I came in.
