w124 270cdi dream build

Hi!
So ive started my dream project a w124 with 270cdi and 6speed manual. So i found a cheap w124 300e only 150dollar not much rust only both front fenders and some on driver door everything else is good for being a swedish car especially for the price some pictures of getting the engines out of both the donor car w210 and the w124. and butchering the engine harness to get throttle position sensor wiring and also glowplug relay wiring and intake temp sensor and map

Nice find! This will definitely be a labor of love; I can’t wait to see the finished project - I’m a huge fan of the w124. Best of luck!

Looking forward to seeing this. I have an 83 300TD with an OM648 and a 722.6 (PSC TCM-2800 standalone controller). You'll have a lot more room to play with given that you're using a 5 cyl.

Curious what your plan is to adapt the manual transmission. Baldur's DID1?

33-35 mpg mixed. It got 38 mpg when driving a constant 65 for an hour once.

It still has a 3.07 diff. If I put in a 2.65 like in a W211 CDI, I would probably see better numbers.

Stock ECU. W211 CDI only came with automatic in USA, not sure about elsewhere.

Have you looked at a modified Bosch EDC15 ECU?
https://www.blacksmokeracing.com/product/mercedes-turbodiesel-race-parts/engine-management/mercedes-diesel-street-ecu/

Dieselpump UK makes a manual transmission adapter kit:

I just bought a 37DZ transmission on ebay UK last week.
