210 fuel sender removal

Having the same issues with my fuel gauge on a 99 e320. But I get a different kind of reading, with a full tank of gas, needle hovers between 1/2 and 1/4.
Will replacing the sender fix the problem...

17 x 8.25 EvolutionII ET34 wheels( silver) with 225/45/17 Toyo proxes 4 used less than 1k miles, ended up upgrading to 18 monos for my W202. Wheels are in mint condition no flaws whatsoever....
