Rearview mirror replacement

Thank you Bobterry99, very good picture. Can anyone tell me if it is nessecary to disconnect the battery before replacing the mirror due to the wiring connections?

Sounds like it's coming from the upper drivers side, center portion of engine. Still comes and goes, not there all the time. Does not matter if it's hot or cold.
